Sarah has started to do more public art. Her most recent project, a collaboration with local artist Kenyan Armitage, is showcased at The Enclave—Torrance’s newest dining and retail destination. Kenyan, a born-and-raised Angeleno, describes painting murals as a way to “extend my work beyond a gallery space and make my art accessible, available and even part of people’s lives from all walks of life. Public art connects people to a space, to each other, and even helps them reconnect to themselves.”

The Enclave is a current project transforming unused space with thoughtful activation. Situated between two existing, 9-story towers, The Enclave mixes retail and food and beverage set within a verdant lounge-like atmosphere to provide an inviting gathering space for visitors. Tree-lined walkways and open grass areas accent light wooden structures, creating a design focused on the human scale of space.

The Beta Design Studio recently won a Gold Award at the 16th annual Davey Awards in the Corporate Identity – Brand Identity category for The Enclave. With nearly 2,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small shops, firms, and companies worldwide.
